HARDWARE & SPECS
Main Features and Benefits
Software and Support
A promising tri-stream router like the Linksys E9300 makes it one of the fastest in the market, with soaring speeds of up to 750Mbps when close to the router. Indeed, when it comes to accelerated performance and quality, this router stands out. High volume activities in busy households like downloading torrent files, using remote desktop software, or hosting a gaming server will have an uninterrupted flow compared to an average router.
When it comes to compatibility, the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router works seamlessly with the Linksys iOS or Android mobile app. Through the app, users will view and modify functions on a Dashboard screen, check internet connectivity status, and how many devices are currently connected.
Thanks to the Airtime Fairness feature, the router can properly designate Wi-Fi in different devices. Lagging and buffering when watching your favorite shows on Netflix will no longer be a hassle. Seamless roaming automatically extends the Wi-Fi range when you’re transferring from one part of the house to another without connecting to the closest networks manually.
Easy Installation and User-Friendly
Apart from optimizing Wi-Fi speeds with tri-band technology, Linksys EA9300 has a straight forward design with a bulky exterior. It’s user-friendly for those purchasing a router for the first time to speed up Wi-Fi connections, thanks to the Linksys web console or mobile app, automatic access, and control of bandwidth activity.
VLAN, wireless scheduling, Airtime Fairness settings, and speed testing are all accessible via the web console. The mobile app has its prime features distinct from the web console, like the visibility of SSIDs per radio band on primary and guest networks. This means it would be easier to see if your guests are accommodated with an above-average internet connection during their visit.
Compatible with Voice Command Tools
For households filled with people that are always on the go, voice command technology is ideal. With Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router, you will be able to ask Alexa to get the kids moving for school by turning off internet access to their designated network.
Ideal Transfer Performance
A workload that requires multiple uploads and download activities, file transfers, and exporting tasks provides above-average support. Those who purchase this Linksys router will not have difficulty navigating functions thanks to the 1.8GHz processor. This top-notch processor is built for the nitty-gritty with a quad-core CPU and three peripheral processors with solid hardware that will not dampen your internet speed.
Uninterrupted gaming on multiple devices with multiple users at once is a plausible reality in your household with the Linksys EA9300 wireless router. It supports MU-MIMO data streaming with beamforming and band-steering kept intact to strengthen continuous usage. Network traffic is also standard in multiple households or co-working spaces, which this router can cushion with its seamless roaming capability.
The Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router goes beyond dual connection wherein you could be in the bedroom shooting targets with your gaming console while your brother or sister is working out to a YouTube video on the patio. The Max-Stream range extender will amplify the signal to reach far flung areas of the house, delivering optimal connection for diverse networking activities.
Auto Firmware Upgrade
Linksys is all about outperforming their final product, and with every update to a new model comes an automatic software or hardware upgrade. The auto firmware update pushes the latest improvements and security tweaks that will boost your user experience.
The transition is consistent and is only meant to get better over some time without any interruptions. The best part is that it’s free and aims to expand existing and new features that help improve functionality in the long run.
With every pro comes a con. The Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000’s high-end hardware maximizes your experience, but just like other routers, it has some points of improvement that maybe the Linksys EA9500 wireless router could meet.
High Price Point
The Linksys EA9300 router boasts a significant price to performance ratio. Since it features 4 LAN ports and a 3x3 MU-MIMO, the high-end quality of its software and hardware make it pricier than the average tri-band router. However, if you’re looking for broad coverage with uninterrupted network experience, then the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router is the one to consider loosening your pocket strings for.
Lacks Built-in Malware Protection
A built-in malware protection feature could use extensive improvement on this router model since users aren’t getting full security from the likes of botnets, bugs, keyloggers, and even crimeware. With backdoor entry getting more comfortable to access through private networks, multi-pronged security via firewall and anti-malware software could be better incorporated into the Linksys EA9300 router.
Advanced SPI and DoS security is present but can be tricky to configure. Network monitoring, foreign network intrusions and detection, as well as data protection are available but could use a boost here and there.
Limited Parental Controls
Device management through the app also showcases parental controls but is quite limited in the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router. Those living in a house with children can supervise their usage through age-appropriate feature filters. A lack of built-in malware protection is apparent wherein your network is protected from viruses and can filter out malicious content and threats. However, if you’re staying in a home with consenting adults, then this feature is probably the least to worry about.
What is the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router Best For?
Purchasing a state-of-the-art router like the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 is a bold yet smart choice. It boasts attributes that address the usual network issues like lagging, instability, or poor reconnection. This Linksys router is perfect for those shifting to a work-from-home set-up and those who live in large abodes with several housemates.
Ensure that your co-inhabitants or co-workers ask themselves what they are often keen on spending bandwidth on. Is it for a long battle of Call of Duty on the new PS5 or streaming the latest holiday rom coms on Netflix? How often do you spend time uploading files to hard drives for work? Streamlining your networking needs is an initial factor to consider when purchasing a wireless router for your home or workplace.
What Buyers Have To Say
With endless reviews and product information on the Linksys EA9300 Max-Stream AC4000 Tri-band Wi-Fi Router online, an extra push to consider solidifying an actual purchase is through feedback. Check out some of the positive reviews:
I have Comcast 150 Mbs blast plus. I needed to upgrade my older equipment as I was only getting 70Mbs wired, 60 Mbs over Wi-Fi in a crowded town home complex. Changed out my older zoom modem 8*4 3.0 to a Motorola 24*8 3.0 . boosted to 103 mbs wireless. Then upgraded from an older linksys (1200AC) to this Tri Band 4000ac. Hugh difference, Hitting 160sMbs plus wired and 153Mbs wireless. Even my 2.4g devices (Alexa tp-link Bulbs) are responding quicker. About time getting the internet speed I pay for. Wireless speed checked on an older HP running a Realtek usb antenna
Very easy setup, simply validated the power supply after reading other reviews, connected the new cables, stepped through the online guide for updating the software, then ran a speed test. After the network/internet upgrade noted above, we were still experiencing a 5 to 15MBS download speed, afterwards, it speed tested at 892MBS. Note this is just the first test, and within an hour of setting up everything, so I'll have to update this review after a few months of usage.
So far this router has been excellent. I have not lost connection and my speeds from various devices exceed the 100mbs promised by Spectrum. I am now getting the 100mbs download speed I pay for. Upload spreads are great especially for security cameras so I have no complaints.
There’s only so much this router can offer, and with all the best features elaborated in this review, it’s only fair to mention additional functions and features that bode well for consumers looking for a little more.
Parental controls may be limited, but the guest networks’ configuration is easier since passwords are not required. Another honorable mention is the convenience when it comes to setting up subnets and forward ports. They are doable and versatile to prioritize specific devices with more critical networking needs, ideal for those living with kids while adults are busy on a Zoom call.
