192.168.2.1 Default Router Admin IP Username and Password
This is an IP address which is used for systems like Belkin, Edimax, Siemens, SMC and many more. This range of IP address was brought by the IANA to delay the lack of more IPv4 address range.
How to login into 192.168.2.1?
If you have a router with login IP like 192.168.2.1 then follow the below steps to get inside the router admin panel. Make sure to have a system ready connected to the home wifi, you should also have the box of your router to get the default username and password.
Step 1: Open web browser
In your local browser, type the IP address http://192.168.2.1 in URL or search bar and click enter.
Step 2: Enter your credentials
If the IP address associated with your router is correct then you will see a login page asking for login details:
- Default Username: admin
- Default Password: password/1234
PS: if the above username and password doesn’t work, we recommend you to check the box of your router else contact the brand with your router model.
Step 3: Explore the Admin Panel
if you entered the correct details, you will enter the admin panel of your router.
Follow the below steps to find the IP of your Router
- Open Command Prompt (CMD)
- Type IPconfig and hit enter
- You will see your default IP address
- Open Apple Menu in top left and click on system preferences
- Click on network tab and choose the network connection
- Click on Advance and click on TCP/IP
- You will see your IP on the right side

- SMC – Username: “admin”, “smc”, “smcadmin”, “cusadmin” or blank – password: “smcadmin”, or blank.
Change the SSID
SSID is called as service set identifier and is the name of your wifi signal which appears in the network tab. You should never leave it to default as it may become easy for hackers to try and attempt to take control of your router. Change your SSID to something which is unique
IP address > Admin panel > Network tab > SSID > Change SSID
Change the default username and password
Changing the default username and password is very very important as not changing will make your router vulnerable to attacks and hack attempts. Change your username and password to something unique and personal. Your password should be an 8-16 character long consisting of alphanumerics and special characters.
